About this Day
On this day, many significant occurrences have occurred. Some of these events as mentioned by Faqīh Abul‑Layth al‑Samarqandī (رحمة الله عليه) are shared here. It has been stated in a hadīth al‑sharīf that the Day of Qiyāmah will also come on the Day of Āshūrā.

The martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) at Karbala
What to Do on this Day
- If groceries are bought on this day, there will be barakāh in one's home for the rest of the year.
- Salām should be given to at least 10 Muslims, or a Muslim should be given salām 10 times.
- The poor should be made happy.
- Those who take a ghusl bath on this day shall not experience ailments for the rest of the year.
- The following dhikr should be recited 10 times: Subḥānallāhi mil'al-mīzān wa muntahal-ʿilmi wa mablaghar-riḍā wa zinatal-ʿarsh
- At the time of Ḍuḥā Ṣalāh, a 2 rakʿah ṣalāh should be performed. Sūrah al-Ikhlāṣ is recited 50 times in each rakʿah after Sūrah al-Fātiḥah. At the completion of this ṣalāh, the following ṣalawāt should be recited 100 times: Ṣalawāt al-Anbiyāʾ
- Between Ẓuhr and ʿAṣr, a 4 rakʿah ṣalāh is performed in which Sūrah al-Ikhlāṣ is recited 50 times in each rakʿah after Sūrah al-Fātiḥah. At the completion of this ṣalāh, 70 times istighfār, 70 times ṣalawāt, and 70 times "Lā ḥawla walā quwwata illā billāhil-ʿaliyyil-ʿaẓīm" should be recited, and duʿā should be made for the guidance and salvation of the Ummah.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، وَآدَمَ وَنُوحٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى، وَمَا بَيْنَهُمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ، صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ وَسَلَامُهُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Allāhumma salli ʿalā sayyidinā Muhammadin wa ʿalā āli sayyidinā Muhammadin wa Ādama wa Nūhin wa Ibrāhīma wa Mūsā wa ʿĪsā wamā baynahum minan‑Nabīyyīna wal mursalīn. Salawātullāhi wa salāmuhū ʿalayhim ajmaʿīn.
O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad and upon the family of our master Muhammad, and upon Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, and upon all the prophets and messengers who came between them. May the blessings of Allah and His peace be upon them all.

Adhkār for this Day
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ مِلْءَ الْمِيزَانِ
Subḥānallāhi Milʾal-Mīzān — The Glorification that Fills the Scale
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ مِلْءَ الْمِيزَانِ، وَمُنْتَهَى الْعِلْمِ، وَمَبْلَغَ الرِّضَا، وَزِنَةَ الْعَرْشِ
Subhānallāhi mil'al mīzān wa muntahal ʿilmi wa mablaghar‑ridā wa zinātal arsh.
Glory be to Allāh, filling the scale, to the utmost of knowledge, to the extent of His pleasure, and the weight of the Throne.
